This world's amnesia
toward GOD is a combination of the imposed and the innate.
"And HE said
unto them, go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to
every creature ... But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them
that are lost: In whom the god of this world hath blinded the
minds of them which believe not,"
And how strange that men, struck damnably blind of Eden's sin, hold a queer affection toward
the blinders byproduct:
"and men loved darkness
rather than light, because their deeds were evil."
Some would explain this
phenomena as a manufacturing oversight; that somehow GOD'S
creative juices experienced a backflow during those six days of
Genesis. This is not the testimony of the MAKER however:
"And GOD saw every thing that HE had
made, and, behold, it was very good." Isaiah 14 and Ezekiel 28 provide the start of a better
explanation, with both describing for us a coup attempt of epic
proportion. Satan's agenda is exposed by these words from
Isaiah: "...
thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will
exalt my throne above the stars of GOD: ... I will be like the
MOST HIGH." His plot
having failed in Heaven:
"How art thou fallen from
heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning!"
... set in motion a hostile takeover
attmept of the
earth which continues to this day. The insidious and
audacious nature of this comes together in this temptation scene
from Matthew's gospel:
"Again, the devil taketh
HIM up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth HIM all the
kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them; and saith unto
HIM, all these things will I give THEE, if THOU wilt fall down
and worship me." The sole
goal of Satan has been and will be the overthrow of GOD.
Unredeemed men are but the witless pawns in his vain effort to see
this through.
"And
the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in
heaven, saying, the kingdoms of this world are become the
kingdoms of our LORD, and of his CHRIST; and HE shall reign for
ever and ever."
Be patient, this patent infringement of
Hell will soon be undone in the final courtroom of the
Revelation.
"I
will remember the works of the LORD: surely I will remember THY
wonders of old."
If you've ever met someone famous, it is
an unforgettable experience. One day I met
JESUS CHRIST and now exclaim with Paul that:
"This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that
CHRIST JESUS came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am
chief."
