"Does the CREATOR of all that
exists have need of anything?"

Does
the CREATOR of all that exists have need of anything?
"Neither is
worshipped with men's hands, as though HE needed any thing,
seeing HE giveth to all life, and breath, and all things;"
Does HE have need of you?
"The earth is
the LORD's, and the fulness thereof ..."
The logical answer to these questions would be no; but the
revealed answer from Scripture is the opposite, and strange to
consider. Here in Matthew's gospel, arises the need of a mama
donkey and her little foal to ride to town on. Albeit
intriguing, other
places reveal that GOD regularly asks for, or uses, either
persons or elements of what HE has made to accomplish some
agenda of HIS. Once, when an unexpected
crowd came by for lunch, HE asked for a few fish, and some bread
from a lad. Another time, HE needed a small child to pull
upon HIS lap for an impromptu session on humility and salvation.
Then there was the occasion when all HE had need of was some
clay, to mingle with HIS spittle, in order to fill a
prescription to cure blindness. How about the time HE used
that filthy harlot, caught in adultery, to instruct on judging
and condemnation. The Bible tells of angels HE needs as
ministering spirits on our behalf.
"As THOU hast given HIM
power over all flesh, that HE should give eternal life to as
many as THOU hast given HIM."
Then, there was that most blessed time in
all eternity, when HE needed someone to love and forgive;
someone to redeem ... and that someone was me, Hallelujah!
"For ye know the
grace of our LORD JESUS CHRIST, that, though HE was rich, yet
for your sakes HE became poor, that ye through HIS poverty might
be rich." Strange and
intriguing, maybe, but exquisite to ponder each moment of each
day, leading up to HIS need to call us home; that HE might have
someone to rejoice over throughout all eternity.
"But who am I, and what
is my people, that we should be able to offer so willingly after
this sort? For all things come of THEE, and of THINE OWN have we
given THEE."
Nothing
in my hand have I
But not for THEE, O' GOD, no life to die
How we
flatter ourselves thinking that GOD needs us, as though we have
something to offer; when one should surmise from Scripture
that HIS sole need is HIS compelling necessity to love!
Yet, in light of all this is the real question which Scripture begs,
and that is: Do you need HIM?
"And
that HE died for all, that they which live should not henceforth
live unto themselves, but unto HIM which died for them, and rose
again."
