To
cast is to let go; and in the Christian life, it is to toss everything to the care of CHRIST.
Go ahead, do it now ... for soon the tide of judgment will overtake your
island called Refuge, and you will be swept out against your
will. But this "bread"
is all I have; and the waters are vast and deep, all
encompassing and foreboding. No matter, you must cast!
Those who leisurely stroll the beaches, those 'toe-dippers',
trying the waters depth and temperature, will miss what GOD
wants them to find.
"He that findeth his life
shall lose it: and he that loseth his life for MY sake shall
find it." What a pitiful
thing it is, to bottle oneself up in the vain years of self
discovery.
"... if any man be in
CHRIST, he is a new creature:"
Do you really believe that HE has redeemed
and redefined you? If so, uncork that little life of
yours, and cast it into the deep waters of a dying world; only
then will you truly find yourself.
"And when it was evening,
HIS disciples came to him, saying, This is a desert place, and
the time is now past; send the multitude away, that they may go
into the villages, and buy themselves victuals. But JESUS
said unto them, They need not depart; give ye them to eat.
And they say unto HIM, We have here but five loaves, and two
fishes. He said, bring them hither to ME ... And they that
had eaten were about five thousand men, beside women and
children." Dear
Christian friend, have you not found it best to cast all that
the LORD supplies to be invested in the exhibition of WHO HE is?
"... For THINE
is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen."
Yes! ... HE provides all the
"bread"; but it is yours to do
with what you will. Cast it, and you will find it
multiplied to HIS glory, and to the sustenance of those shipwrecked
souls HE came to save. Hold it, and GOD will mold it, like
day old manna.
"And GOD is able to
make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all
sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work:"
Why do you swoon on the beach,
when the bakery of HIS grace is open 24\7? In the midst of
all the hustle-bustle along the shores, look for the enterprise
of the cross, get what HE gives, and give it a
toss ... "thou shalt find"
plenty leftover for you.
"And they did all eat, and
were filled: and they took up of the fragments that remained
twelve baskets full."
