"If the
foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do?"
True enough, but the context of The
Sermon on the Mount demands: If your foundation is sand, will
your house (life) stand the judgment of GOD? The foundation is
obedience to the gospel call of JESUS CHRIST! Are you deaf to the duty of man?
"... Fear GOD, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole
duty of man."
There are building codes of grace when it
comes to the Christian life (cf. 1
Corinthians 3:9-13) ... and by virtue of the codes, comes
an INSPECTOR. We are far too savvy to buy spiritual swamp land, but
Satanic real estate agents are selling beach front property hand
over fist ... and most disconcerting is that his chief branch is at the front door of the church.
One would think, in looking at what calls itself Christianity,
that the whole world is an island given the measure of sand held
beneath most of our structures. JESUS tells the story of two
houses in Matthew 7, identical, save the foundations. "But be
ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own
selves." Many who fancy themselves as
eternal speculators
have built over a sinkhole of sin foolishly comparing their
house (life) with the neighbor across town, while convincing
themselves all is well. Our SAVIOR thus concludes
the greatest sermon ever preached with a warning:
"And the rain descended, and the floods
came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell:
and great was the fall of it." Biblically,
Hurricane Judgment lies just off the coast of mankind gaining
strength day by day. Soon, it will make landfall, the EYE
passing directly over your house (life). If all this be true, the
obvious question is: How's
your foundation?
"And
every one that heareth these sayings of MINE, and doeth them ..."
Many of us hear, but how few
there are which
heed. Are we currently, fervently, doing the
"sayings" of JESUS CHRIST?
If so, the INSPECTOR states of your life that:
"I
will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a
rock:"
