Oh! What an
inconceivable thing, that the fullness of the GODHEAD bodily
would be deposited in our sinful ones. That once we were
out on the scrap heap of depravity; but now the very repository
of all grace, is beyond the vernacular! We make much ado
regarding investment and return as it pertains to our finances.
The question begs then from today's thoughts ... is GOD getting
a reasonable return on HIS investment in you?
"According as HIS divine power hath given unto us all things
that pertain unto life and godliness ..." What a discrepancy
there is in most of us Christians, between our GDP (Great Divine
Provision) and our net worth to Glory.
"I beseech you
therefore, brethren, by the mercies of GOD, that ye present your
bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto GOD, which is
your reasonable service." Are you okay
with the LORD making regular withdrawals on HIS account with
you? Are you open 24\7, and at HIS disposal night and day
to: "spend and be spent"?
Is your pride able to handle the headlines which read: GOD is
Great! ... when you're the one totally dispersed in HIS service?
Truth be known, regarding the majority of us believers, we are
guilty of embezzling HIS Excellency; all the while running
bankers hours of spirituality, and smug about it to boot.
Inner pride always polishes the outer vessel, ignoring to our spiritual peril,
and Heaven's profit line, the excellence of the power of GOD
in each vessel HE has redeemed.
Pharisee's focus on the external, the child of GOD must never;
and the New Testament is replete with that very admonition.
Conventional investment
wisdom says to diversify, but not so with GOD, HE commands all
our eggs in one basket. "Again, the
kingdom of heaven is like unto a merchant man, seeking goodly
pearls: who, when he had found one pearl of great price, went
and sold all that he had, and bought it."
Are you involved in a personal scandal against GOD ... set out
to squander "divine power"
and spend it instead on your own selfish pursuits? What
utter tragedy to arrive at the end of your earthly life, flush
in the flesh, and
bankrupt in grace!
"For what
shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and
lose his own soul?"
