What could possibly be
more inconceivable than this prophecy of the LORD given to
Jeremiah? GOD originally forbid
the tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil from man; and hindsight
suggests HE knew what HE was doing.
"They have built also
the high places of Baal, to burn their sons with fire for burnt
offerings unto Baal, which I commanded not, nor spake it,
neither came it into MY mind:"
Is it possible that the mind of man has dove to depths which
even GOD never imagined? The footprints heading east out of
Eden, have indeed become increasingly deep and gory. When
the knowledge of good and evil came in, the knowledge of GOD
went out; and the utterly unthinkable, suddenly became very
doable!
For all who doubt my
assessment, take a close look at this one breathtaking sentence,
from the pen of Paul, outlining the litany of licentiousness,
to which we are capable.
"And even as they did
not like to retain GOD in their knowledge, GOD gave them over to
a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;
being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness,
covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate,
deceit, malignity; whisperers, backbiters, haters of GOD,
despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things,
disobedient to parents, without understanding, covenantbreakers,
without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful: who knowing
the judgment of GOD, that they which commit such things are
worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them
that do them." The
depravity we see and hear of in our world today is simply the natural course of
creatures culled from their CREATOR. Sin can be labeled
satanic, but don't call it insane, it is the most calculated
science on the planet.
We think Hollywood
bizarre and far fetched, but it is not! It is merely the theater
of the Producer's mind, based upon the book of the Humanities. Modern
sociologists have their cart before their sinner; for media is
not the cause of all the abhorrent behavior, it is the replay of it.
The most graphic scenes of the screen, depicting the depraved
mind of man, pale in comparison to the real time events
occurring daily in our world. It was into the cow trough
of this sad cinema of our sin that CHRIST was born, and into similar lot,
HE sends HIS gospel missions today.
"And
the LORD said unto the servant, go out into the highways and
hedges, and compel them to come in, that MY house may be
filled."
