The LORD goes about HIS will with a
methodical haste which befuddles the unlearned:
"... be not ignorant of this one thing,
that one day is with the LORD as a thousand years, and a
thousand years as one day." HE seems to move agonizingly
slow at times and on other occasions, HE moves at the speed of
the
infinite. This leaves HIM in HIS rightful position,
revealed, yet indeterminate. Men have harnessed wind,
light, sound, ... and a host of nature's wonders for his own use
and benefit, but no man has fully discovered or harnessed the
power and will of GOD. Neither has there ever been an
infidel, terrestrial or celestial, able to thwart said power and
will ... HALELLUJAH!
"... we which are alive and remain shall be caught up ... to
meet the LORD ..." There are those who are banking on
catching the midnight express as it pulls out of the station,
but will discover the ENGINEER'S watch and theirs are not
synchronized. They, like the five foolish virgins, will
arrive to find the ticket office closed and the last train for
Glory
departed (cf. Matthew 25:1-13).
The lost boasts that he
might catch up to GOD ... GOD glories that the saved
"shall be caught up".
"But we all, with
open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the LORD, are
changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the
SPIRIT of the LORD." Full sanctification is change
from death in sin, to life in the LORD, and must be understood
as three faceted. At the point of one's salvation,
positional sanctification occurs when we are placed:
"in CHRIST". As
we grow from new birth and live our Christian lives, practical
sanctification takes place. Here, however, in the time of
a twinkle, ultimate sanctification arrives from the final change
station, to glorious grace before HIS throne.
"After this I looked, and, behold, a door
was opened in heaven: and the first voice which I heard was as
it were of a trumpet talking with me; which said, come up
hither, and I will shew thee things which must be hereafter.
And immediately I was in the spirit: and, behold, a throne was
set in heaven, and ONE sat on the throne."
