New flowerbed in bloom!
Cut & Collect
- Cut flower heads to encourage more blooms.
- Cut back roses and tender shrubs.
- Collect seeds from annuals.
- Detach strawberry runners from parent plant.
- Order spring bulbs.
Sow & Weed
- Sow seeds for perennials and biennials like columbine,
coreopsis, delphinium, daisy and hollyhock.
- Plant chrysanthemums.
- Set out new plants like daylilies, foxglove, iris, poppy and
peonies.
- Weed all gardens.
- Clean up garden after fall crops are harvested.
- Cultivate soil and sow winter crop.
Feed & Water & Spray
- Feed perennials and strawberries for the last time.
- Spray for pests.
- Keep watered and fertilize lightly between bursts of bloom.
