Colorful salads add a flavorful and healthy addition to a meal.

Preparation of Salad Vegetables

Lettuce                        cupped, sliced across, wedged, shredded

Beets                            shredded

Cabbage                      shredded as in coleslaw

Carrots                        shredded, chopped, ground, sliced thin

Cucumbers                sliced unpeeled

Green Onion tops    sliced fine

Parsley                        sprigs

Radishes                    sliced paper thin, or as roses

Tomatoes                   wedged, sliced, add after tossing salad

Turnips                        shredded


Salad Tip: Make a radish rose by cutting through the first layer at several points around the radish then peel peel back sections, leaving a white center.
