The familiar Sunday School song
goes:
12 men went to spy on
Canaan
10 were bad & 2 were
good
What do think they
saw in Canaan
10 were bad & 2 were
good
Some saw giants big
and strong
Some saw grapes of
clusters long
Some saw GOD was in
it all
10 were bad & 2 were
good
The unknown is at the same
time, frightening and full of intrigue. Who hasn't read of Lewis
and Clark and allowed their imagination the liberty of transport into
the untamed beauty once found west of the Mississippi? Who hasn't at
one time or another read a spy novel or mystery and fantasized about
espionage, discovery, and the solving of some personal or world
crisis?
I find the Christian life an
ever expanding frontier. Scripture describes it as a pilgrimage.
The enjoyment comes when we view our journey with a pioneer spirit
exercising the faith of a child embarked upon some new adventure.
The blessing of living out on the
frontier as a Christian is that GOD has forayed on our behalf, preserving HIS
findings in the Bible. It is the Christian Inspirational
Accounts
(C. I. A.) Manual. Being 'in the loop' so to speak must thus
serve to inspire and embolden us to action, not paralyze us in fear.
Take the intel you glean
from GOD and parlay it out on the frontier. You'll soon
discover, like Joshua, that what GOD has in store is
"exceeding good".
