In August we are studying Joshua, the protégé of Moses. These events span about 60 years (ca.
1445-1385 B. C.) and comprise the fulfillment of GOD'S promise to Abraham
and his offspring, namely the possession of the promised land.
Moses chose Oshea of the tribe of
Ephraim as one of his twelve spies to Canaan on their first visit to Kadesh
Barnea. Numbers 13:16 reveals that Moses changed his name from Oshea
(deliverer) to Jehoshea (YAHWEH saves) ... a not so subtle indication of WHO
the glory would belong to in the conquest of the land west of the Jordon.
Come along now into this brief, yet
revealing look at one of JEHOVAH'S greatest warriors.
